Join us to have a short lecture, lunch, and lab tour of Dr. Jun Li's Engineering Lab at the University of Minnesota. Prof. Jun Li is the 2026–2027 recipient of the ASHRAE New Investigator Award. The ASHRAE New Investigator Award (NIA) assists new university faculty members to develop research capabilities in HVAC&R related fields. The award comes with a $125,000 maximum potential award typically used on a 2 to 3 year project, enabling the investigator to conduct feasibility studies and initiate research.  One award is generally granted per year. Jun Li's research aims to reduce energy consumption and assist in the decarbonization for the society.   The presentation will include research proposed in the NIA application and a short engineering lab tour.  Dr. Jun Li is the Student Branch Advisor (SBA) for the University of Minnesota ASHRAE Student Branch.
