Bio:

Tom Peterson is a native Minnesotan, born and raised in Owatonna to a farming family. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Stout where he studied Industrial Engineering. Tom has served on the Owatonna Business Incubator Board and the Minnesota Technology, Inc. Board of Directors. He is currently serving on the Engineering Board of Oral Roberts University, is a Core Planning Committee member of the Owatonna Jumpstart Initiative, a Commissioner of the Owatonna Economic Development Authority (EDA), and a Board Member of the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism. In 2020, he was part of the first class that was inducted into the Owatonna Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. Tom has more than 40 years of experience in the HVAC industry. In 1989, Tom and his wife Sue started Concepts and Designs (CAD) in their home as a Computer Aided Drafting company. In 1991, the business was incorporated as Concepts and Designs, Inc. (CDI). CDI is a manufacturing company supplying Desiccant Dehumidification air handlers and Critical Process air handlers in commercial and industrial markets. CDI products are distributed through a national network of Manufacturers’ Representatives. It is CDI’s mission to provide their customers with high quality, energy efficient products, while striving for correct application of their products to each customer’s needs.

This month’s seminar is for those that have had formal training in Psychrometric at some time in your career, but it's time to cut through the fog and get the basics of how it is used in determination of moisture solutions. We will highlight examples on controlling moisture for a hospital surgical suite and a food process room. We will focus on an understanding of vapor pressure, dewpoint, and grains of moisture, using these concepts to discuss how desiccants work, and how we perform moisture load calculations.
